As Australia’s longest running mining show, Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) has a history of supporting the latest trends and developments in the industry.
Following a strong bid from the South Australian Government, AIMEX will now call South Australia home for the next 10 years. This move marks an exciting new chapter for the event and the region’s resource sector, with the state leading the way in future-focused mining.
The new phase of AIMEX brings an expanded floorplan with outdoor availability and new verticals including Transformative Technology and the Research and Development Hub.

Gold Fields Plant Upgrade Sets New Benchmark in Performance and Safety
Faced with an expansion into a third underground source at their Agnew gold mine, Gold Fields needed to increase plant throughput. The 21-year-old tertiary crushing circuit, which was suffering from poor reliability, was unable to meet the demand. Gold Fields teamed up with Sandvik to implement an innovative new plant that is now delivering outstanding results in efficiency, safety and productivity. Bulk Materials Handling: Flow, Wear, and Conveyor Component Selection
This presentation provides practical insights into key challenges and solutions in bulk materials handling across mining operations. It covers material flow property testing and how it informs the design of hoppers and chutes to prevent common issues such as blockages and poor discharge. This session will also discuss wear mechanisms affecting conveyor belts and chute liners, along with strategies for mitigating wear in demanding environments. Finally, the session will explore the selection of idlers as the key conveyor component to optimise reliability, efficiency, and service life.
