Grant is an experienced mining and manufacturing executive, leader and engineer who has served for over 20 years in the gold mining, mineral sands and steel manufacturing industries. He has substantial operating and project management experience in developing greenfield and brownfield mining operations and, more recently, in business transformation strategy and leadership in manufacturing change. For the last decade, Grant has been part of the Executive Senior Leadership Team with BlueScope New Zealand Steel, leading several business organisational change strategic projects including installation of the New Electric Arc Furnace. Before New Zealand Steel, Grant was part of the Iluka Resources Leadership Team in the Murray Basin in Victoria, which oversaw the development and operations of three mineral sands sites over a 10-year period. Grant joined Astron in January this year in the team developing the Donald rare mineral sands and rare earth deposit in Western Victoria.
