Amir Razmjou
Associate Professor Amir Razmjou (BSc, MSc, PhD) established and leads the Mineral Recovery Research Centre at Edith Cowan University, pioneering sustainable innovations in extracting critical minerals such as lithium, rubidium, iron, and alumina. Amir’s advanced membrane technologies are transforming recovery processes and positioning Western Australia as a leader in cleaner mining. His biomedical work, including the development of a lithium skin patch for bipolar disorder, highlights the breadth and impact of his research. With over $17 million in research funding, Amir has built a high-performing team and actively champions STEM through school outreach, public talks, and international collaboration, driving public engagement and scientific impact across Western Australia.
