Tyre managers can focus too heavily on maximising tyre life without seeing the bigger picture of maximising production and have in recent years, had to learn to adjust to a different environment where tyre supply is plentiful. The objective of this session is not to get into highly technical civil engineering principals, but to slant the conversation towards the effect that haul road design and maintenance decisions contribute to tyre performance and therefore overall mine operating costs.
