Reed Exhibitions Australia has today announced a new partnership with Engineers Australia for Australia’s most extensive mining exhibition, the Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX).

Running from 29 – 31 August 2017, AIMEX is a key event for the mining industry with a full program of world-class exhibitors and speakers, networking opportunities and live demonstrations from the region.

AIMEX Event Director Brandon Ward said the industry partnership was the first-of-its-kind, opening up new opportunities for collaboration between engineers from all fields of practice and AIMEX exhibitors.

“As the peak representative body for Australia’s engineering professionals with more than 100,000 members, Engineers Australia is a powerful global voice to have on board for AIMEX 2017,” said Mr Ward.

“This collaboration will only strengthen the event’s reach to engage with highly talented and qualified engineering professionals, exchange ideas and share industry insights with likeminded peers.”

“Engineers Australia plays an important role in shaping the industry’s future, and it is fantastic to have them involved as we continue planning for the 2017 event.”

Engineers Australia Chief Operating Officer Ron Watts, said the partnership with AIMEX would help better connect members with the latest knowledge, expertise and experience.

“Through this new industry collaboration, Engineers Australia will be able to provide our members the opportunity to learn about the latest global developments in mining, network with industry peers and speak directly to suppliers showcasing cutting edge technology,” said Mr Watts.

The free-to-attend exhibition will see more than 300 exhibitors come together to showcase the latest products and services and new and emerging technologies within the sector.

As part of this year’s exhibition, The Future of Mining conference will see world-renowned industry leaders share opinions on the future of the industry, advancements and new processes, and insights on how organisations can better manage expenditure, increase profitability and deliver greater productivity.

“Event attendees will have direct access to engage with industry specialists via the conference program, with CSIRO Research Director for Hark Rock Mining Dr Ewan Sellers and NSW Mining Chief Executive Stephen Galilee already confirmed as 2017 speakers,” continued Mr Ward.

This year’s exhibition will also feature ‘The Breakthrough’: an innovative platform showcasing new-to market technologies that have the ability to provide significant benefit to the mining sector.

“AIMEX is an unrivalled mining event in the region and offers visitors the chance to interact face-to-face with exhibitors, collaborate and share knowledge with one another and hear about the latest products from leading suppliers,” said Mr Ward.
