Support Our Mines

The mining industry in NSW is being crippled by government red tape delaying expansion approvals and putting thousands of jobs and businesses at risk. It is important that you show the Government that you support mining in NSW and the easiest way to do this is to complete a short survey on the Voice for Mining website.

Now is not the time to remain quiet we all need to take a moment and complete these surveys and show the Government that we want mining to continue in NSW.

Springvale Mine

Drayton South

Mount Thorley Warkworth

Centennial Coal’s Springvale mine helps deliver up to 15% of the state’s power, as well as providing more than 300 jobs. The NSW Government has called for yet another public hearing, meaning the majority of the Springvale workforce has been stood down, as they continue to wait for a final decision.

Anglo American’s Drayton South mine will now be referred to the Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) as it enters the next phase of the approvals process. Over 500 direct miners are at risk of losing their jobs as well as hundreds of suppliers, the PAC needs to know why this expansion is so important so make your voice count. Changes to the NSW Planning laws will require Mount Thorley Warkworth to undertake yet another public exhibition. These changes have once again put the 1300 workers at risk of losing their jobs and put a town in jeopardy.
