Reed Exhibitions has announced a campaign to attract "frontline" mining people – operators, fitters, foremen, supervisors and pit floor managers – to AIMEX – Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition 2011, to be held in Sydney’s Olympic Park, Homebush, from September 6-9.
Each day of AIMEX, frontline mine personnel – who will need to be able to show current employment ID – will go into a draw to win an Apple iPad 2, and will be offered the opportunity to attend special presentations and networking events.
They will also be identified as "AIMEX frontliners" giving them VIP access to the exhibition, and to special promotions offered by some exhibitors.
"Frontline mine personnel are key players in running successful mining operations," said Paul Baker, Reed Exhibitions’ exhibition director, industrial events.
"They play a vital role in selecting equipment, because they operate, maintain and work with it on a daily basis, and their insights and opinions are of critical interest, not only to senior mine management, but also to suppliers and service providers.
"Increasingly, mining companies are empowering their frontline personnel to become involved in equipment and services selection, because they appreciate the valuable knowledge and experience they bring to the decision-making process," he said.
"For that reason, we are actively encouraging frontline personnel – whether they are operators, supervisors, fitters, foremen or pit or shift managers – to come along and be a part of AIMEX.
"In addition to giving away an Apple iPad 2 every day of AIMEX to qualified frontline personnel, we’ll be working with our exhibitors to put on a range of presentations and networking events designed to appeal directly to the end-users of their equipment.
"And we’ll be clearly identifying them as ‘AIMEX Frontliners’ so that everyone involved with the event will be aware of their vital roles in keeping the mines of Australia operating successfully and profitably.
"As we get closer to AIMEX, we’ll be announcing a number of events that will be aimed specifically at frontline mining personnel," said Baker.
